The Gypsy West
When you listen to The Gypsy West, you are transported to space only you can describe. Their songs, woven in subtleties, retain a mysticism that permeates not only the sound of the band, but the concept as well. Their music can only be characterized as The Gypsy West.
They recently released their debut album, Dustfires was recorded entirely at the WERS studios (except for the choir). It should be listened to from start to finish to get the full scope. From a production standpoint, the record is unique in its timbres and mixing. From an artistic standpoint, Dustfires is a bold, original and uncompromising debut revealing a band fearlessly themselves.
The Gypsy West has its roots in Cambridge, MA, where it began a free show run at the All Asia for almost 6 straight months. If they can be classified, the Gypsy West can be classified as a live band. Bombastic, energetic, and full of surprises, their shows are one of a kind.
