The Gypsy West: Music
The Project
(The Gypsy West)
2008-03
Matt Smith/Alex Giorgetti
facing forward with his helmet on
our hero stands at the
near arriving dawn
paralyzed and traumatized
he hums his favorite tune
the one that filled the air with lies
on a Tuesday afternoon
never ceasing filtered for our eyes
this theatre is booked the usher
boldly cried
the audience just laughed along
and covered up the sound
the echo of the leading man
who crooked his hat and bowed
we could have it all
we could have the world in
the palm of our hands
they wont raise their fists
in the air or complain
we'll save the future
for ourselves
and while the guilty hide
our sheepdog turns the tide
it doesnt matter who wins the war
this time we may be blind
but I see it all
and the last shell falls upon
the floor
as our new demons cry for more
if you see in black and white
then blood and oil looks the same
broken spirits cast in lead and sand
a holy resting place
in a not so sacred land
the last man standing turns
his head to watch the sun go down
he knows there's something wrong today
but doesnt make a sound
we could have have it all
we could have the world in
the palm of our hands
they wont raise their fists
in the air or complain
we'll save the future
for you...
